Horse Fan Badge

All children will be given a tour of our facility and learn about the everyday care of a horse.  Safety is stressed at all times!  Grooming a horse and learning the parts of the saddle & bridle as well as learning about horses eating habits are all a part of this badge.  You may want to become an instructor.  We will tell you how to become a certified Instructor.    We will show you what a horse likes to eat and how to clean a stall.  Children may bring a carrot or apple to give as treats and an important safety rule will be learned.  Never feed a horse with your hand, always use a bucket, you will need your fingers!              Cost:  $35 per child.


Horseback Rider Badge

Each child must demonstrate how to safely tie a horse, groom, saddle & bridle a horse, as well as correctly mount & dismount.  Also, each child should be able to demonstrate the emergency dismount at  the halt & walk. The rider must demonstrate control at the walk & trot and can demonstrate how to turn & stop. Each child should have knowledge of the parts of the horse.
It is recommended that horseback riding lessons are taken prior to trying for this badge.  Cost:  $75 per child
