Therapeutic Riding   www.amyswishwithwings.com - Our mission statement is to assist each child with special needs in reaching their full potential through interaction with horses.  Children with special needs including autism, down syndrome,  brain injuries, cerebral palsy, victims of abuse, vision impaired, selective mutism and many others will benefit from the movement of the horse to stimulate the rider's vestibular system as it responds to balance signals, voluntary movement and speech. The horse provides an alternative therapy for children to build self esteem, learn sequential tasks & stay on tasks, empathy & promote stronger gross and fine motor skills.

Each day a child arrives at the barn, the Instructor will be evaluating the child by observing the child and talking to the parents. The parent is one of the important keys to finding out if the program is helping that particular child. Each lesson will follow a step by step program and each child will be evaluated every time/every ride.   This is not a group setting.  Each child is worked with one on one with a parent as our assistant.  We are currently looking for families, individuals, clubs or businesses to sponsor a child or school horse.  A $250 tax deductible donation will feed a horse for one month or let a child ride for one month.
